Some exciting things are going on in Nashville! Along with People Like Art, many fashion brands have been starting and growing in Nashville over the past few years. It is really difficult to make a fashion brand successful and then to attempt to make it successful outside of NYC or LA where an existing industry structure already exists makes it that much harder. Lucky for us there is a group of people trying to change things for us.
The Nashville Fashion Alliance is an organized alliance of like-minded professionals dedicated to building a sustainable and globally recognized fashion industry in Nashville, Tennessee through advocacy, economic development, resources and education
So what does all that mean? It means that a bunch of badasses are joining forces to help small, growing businesses like People Like Art really make it happen. This is how big cities, like NYC, establish, grow, and sustain their fashion industries. Amazingly successful and talented people in Nashville are generously giving of their time and wisdom to do this. It is hard, like reeaallly hard, to make a fashion business successful all on your own (trust me). Designers like me need support and now we have a chance to get that much needed support. Please help NFA and in turn help PLA and all the other local brands. Let's do this!
